Water is a finite source and covers about 71% of the earth’s surface; however, about 3% of the earth’s water is fresh. The earth has an abundance of water, but unfortunately, only a small percentage (about 0.3%), is even usable by humans.
Growing pollution along with decreasing groundwater replenishment rate has reduced drinking water availability in the past few years. Such a scenario associated with increasing population is presumed to result in a massive demand/ supply mismatch of potable or usable water. Further, water stress is prominent in areas such as #Asia, the #MiddleEast and North #Africa, and #Australia.
